As seen on The Columbian:

Fr. Michael Rozdilski of Holy Apostles Orthodox Church will conduct the annual blessing of the Columbia River as part of the Orthodox Church’s celebration of the great Feast of Theophany, also known as Epiphany, which commemorates the Baptism of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan nearly 2000 years ago. All are welcome to join.

Prior to the blessing of the river, Fr. Michael will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at Holy Apostles Orthodox Church located at 3214 N St., Vancouver. The service will begin at 9 a.m. and will conclude just before 11 a.m.

At the conclusion of the church service we will meet on the banks of the Columbia River at Wintler Community Park where Fr. Michael will conduct the blessing of the waters at 11:30 a.m., and a few will dive in to the river to retrieve a wooden cross.
