The Choral Arts Ensemble, under the direction of Tracey Edson*, will be presenting a program of rich choral music from 16th c. England and 19th-20th c. Russia.

William Byrd's Mass for Five Voices, with Easter motets inserted, will be featured in the first half.  In the second half, Russian sacred music by Chesnokov, Gretchaninoff and Rachmaninoff will be featured.

While separated by a thousand miles and two centuries, these two blocs of music emphasize rich choral colors, crystalline textures, and refined but dramatic emotion.

Orthodox listeners will recognize meaningful texts and familiar melodies cast in fulfilling settings.

Advance purchase tickets are $15.00 general admission, $12.00 for seniors, and $10.00 for students; they can be purchased at Choral Arts website. For more information about this program, check out the website, call 503-488-3834, or contact Joe Baker, Marketing Director, at

* Tracey is Director of Liturgical Music at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
